Water Reform Timeline

Stage 1 of the water reform was completed in July 2008 when the State Government took control of the bulk water assets and established the State Government-owned water entities including Seqwater, LinkWater, WaterSecure and the Water Grid Manager. 

Implementation of Stage 2 of the water reforms is underway and the Local Government-owned integrated distribution and retail businesses are expected to become operational from July 2010.
