The SEQ Region's Water Business 3 (WB3) will be an integrated distribution and retail business.

WB3 will be owned by councils as shareholders. The three council shareholders include:

• Gold Coast City Council
• Logan City Council
• Redland City Council

The new business will be a separate legal entity with a new name and brand. It will be responsible for water delivery, wastewater transport and treatment, recycled water treatment and supply, operations and maintenance, new infrastructure, and retail services including billing and customer service.

The new business will:
• service a population of around 850,000;
• service an area of approximately 2,800 sq km;
• have approximately $4 billion in assets.
